Grinch
Get in the spirit of Christmas by watching a special Christmas film. Our recommendation this season is the 2000 How The Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey.

The film features are based on the book by the famous Dr. Seuss. Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville. In Whoville, live the Whos, an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Whos love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try to befriend the Grinch. Enjoy!

Rudolph-the-red-nosed-reindeer-the-movie

The Northern Lights Sprites, a group of singing sprites that ride across the North Pole, witness the birth of Rudolph, a baby reindeer with an odd red, shiny nose. Rudolph and his parents, Blitzen and Mitzi, are later joined by Rudolph's three uncles, Dasher, Comet, and Cupid. Cupid tickles Rudolph and makes his glowing nose to shine, attracting attention and making Rudolph ridiculed. Meanwhile, while carrying Santa's mail, two of Santa's elves, Doggle and Boone, cross the evil Ice Queen Stormella's ice bridge, inadvertently breaking some ice sculptures. When Stormella discovers the truth, she demands that Santa return them to her. When he declines, she punishes him by closing her bridge and threatening to produce a blizzard so powerful that it will prevent Santa from distributing gifts to children all over the world on Christmas Eve. Twelve-days-of-christmas

Twelve Days Of Christmas is a singalong Christmas carol that plays through the twelve days of the Christmas season, starting on Christmas Day and concluding on the day before Epiphany, on January 6th. Starting with 'a partridge in a pear tree' and concluding with 'twelve drummers drumming,' each day represents a new gift. It's a standard English tune from the 1700s, though some scholars say it may have French roots. The song was released in 1780 without music or rhythm, and the standard tune came from an English composer, Frederic Austin, who introduced the familiar recurrence of the line 'five gold rings' in a 1909 setting of a popular folk melody (now often 'five golden rings'). The song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' is cumulative, meaning that each verse builds on the previous verses. There are twelve chapters, each detailing a gift offered on one of the twelve days of Christmas by 'my true love.' Read more...
